April 10th, 2008 — eBay
eBay’s new affiliate program is rewarding people who are signing up early.
I received an email from them just shortly after I had signed with them.
“Thanks for signing up on eBay Partner Network and completing your payment information early.
As part of the eBay Partner Network launch, we’re performing an initial small “bonus” payment cycle for a randomly selected group of partners who have completed their payment information early, and you’re one of the lucky partners! You’ll receive $5-$10 in your account in April.
Thanks again for your participation!”

April 2nd, 2008 — Payment Processing
I discovered an alternative to PayPal today. At first glance, there were many similarities. But on further investigation, it promises to make online payments easier.
AlertPay.com simplifies bank transfers, bank wires, direct deposits and other payment methods - everything except cash.
AlertPay’s team of 25 works to ensure extra security for all transactions. Back-end flagging services alert banks to security breaches, and automated fraud-tracking tools lock down accounts when activity is abnormal.
The introductory rate for AlertPay is 2.5% per transaction as compared to PayPal’s transaction fees.

April 2nd, 2008 — Streaming Audio and Video
There is a new audio and video streaming service in town!
TalkStream is a very cool service where you can stream audio and video from your website.
You can also easily set up special call-in lines for audio testimonials… a great way for you to collect testimonials for your website.
It’s also very affordable compared to other similar services out there on the market.
This service is from Simon Grabowski (the same company that brings you GetResponse)

Registered for the eBay Partner Network today and it’s simple 2 step process! Simply fill in some simple information and they sent you an email to your inbox to verify your signup. That’s it!
Really cool features on the inside, though it seems to be a tad rough around the edges with the user friendly factor. Understandable being the new tool and it will only get better with time.
It has cool tracking features which customized links and widgets. Performance reports and the sign up is for eBay’s Global sites. Which means any user that visits though your link gets taken to the most suitable site based their geography or IP address. Finally rid of Commission Junction’s sucky interface! Two thumbs up!

March 27th, 2008 — eBay
eBay is finally getting it’s own affiliate program and launching on 1st April 2008 according to their website.
See also their press release here. eBay Advances Affiliate Offering With eBay Partner Network.
They have been using Commission Junction for some time now and I don’t know about you but Commission Junction’s user interface really sucks.
For such a large company with many experienced programmers, the graphical user interface really leaves much to be desired.
I’m really looking forward to see the new eBay affiliate management program. And since it’s built “by them and for them”, it should really kick stuff off for eBay affiliates and those looking to making money by leveraging this giant.

If you do any form of traffic generation online, make sure that your systems are in place to capture those leads or prospects.
The Pareto’s Principle - The 80-20 Rule applies here. 20 percent of your efforts will produce 80 percent of your results.
If you have placed a solo ad, AdWords Campaign or an ad in the local papers, here’s how it’s gonna work.

Joint ventures, partnerships, affiliation or any other name that you like to call it is one of the best ways to expand your business.
Many people fear approaching others for a myriad of reasons.
However, no man is an island and while you can work with minimal manpower in your online business, to be truly successful, you have to work with other people whether you like it or not.
This allows you to leverage off their resources that you have limitations on.
There is a Chinese saying by Sun Tze in “The Art of War”: “Know thyself, know thy enemy. A hundred battles fought, a hundred battles won.”

August 11th, 2007 — Autoresponders
One of your most important assets online is your list or database. If not, THE most important.
Also, with the amount of noise online these days, it is vital to follow up with your prospects to clinch sales to whatever it is you are in business for.
Industry experts say that it takes up to 7 or more times before a prospect warms up to you and actually makes a purchase.
Here’s the good news, on the internet, we are able to automate this process via autoresponders.
Autoresponder software is essential to your success in your online business.

Good copywriting may be the best way to sell your product or service online. But with the effective use of professional looking graphics, coupled with an interesting caption, you can effectively increase your response dramatically.
Your product’s perceived value goes up with the use of an eCover graphic as most people are visually inclined. They will see something that is more tangible rather than just an information product.
You will be able to create a brand or icon that your customers can associate with and even if they don’t buy the first time, there is a visual hook in their mind to return to your product in future.

April 10th, 2007 — Internet Marketing
The number of people on the internet each day is staggering; with current figures at more than 1 billion and only growing at an ever increasing rate. Imagine if you could get just 1 cent from each person…
Creating your presence on the internet is like creating virtual real estate. Not jumping on this vehicle results in you losing a big slice of the pie.
It is in today’s information age, the most cost efficient method of disseminating information on a large scale.
